Synopsis: “In the pre-internet 90s, we had to wait for our news. TV or radio broadcasts were the only way of nding out about current events. From that point, word of mouth traveled slowly, from individual to individual either over the phone, through snail mail, or in person. “The Day The Grunge Died” examines the discovery of a tragedy in an age without instant messages. Sixteen-year-old Jen nds out about the death of her idol, Kurt Cobain, when her friend Karen calls her and tells her to turn on the news. Jen meets up with Karen and their hysterical friend Mandy at Karen’s house, they then attempt to track down their sensitive friend Jeremy so they can break the news to him in person. In this lm, we look back with nostalgia to the 90s, reviving a world of baggy clothes, amazing music, and phones with cords and wires. We nd out how people connected in a world with seemingly so few connections.”
